“ We were there to celebrate 2 college graduates. The staff was amazing. The food was good. I would really recommend it. I gave the atmosphere a 4 star because it is decorated in the industrial look and that makes it louder in the restaurant. Especially when it is busy like it was on Friday. ”
“ Always outstanding service and food. Very busy Saturday night and the hostess sat us quickly. The waiter was very good and enjoyed his job. He checked on us at the right times and made sure we had everything we could need. The teriyaki salmon with cooked spinach was incredible!! Blackstone is always a top tier resturant from the staff to the food 100% the atmosphere is always happy and inviting. Recommend this experience in the Iowa city area. ”
“ Came from out of town for a business lunch. Very impressed by the authentic and detailed service we had from Erica, and also another employee (not sure her role) Grace who took time out to connect over a shared interest and help us feel welcomed. I'm a fellow server and was impressed. Definitely a place we will come back to if we are in the area! ”
“ I have been coming to this place for years, and the food is always on point, drinks are delicious. I love the separation of dining and bar seating for bingo/game nights. ”
“ They were accommodating & knowledgeable about my children's celiac disease. We aren't able to eat many places, so this was a special treat! The atmosphere was very clean & classy. The food was presented beautifully & delicious! ”
“ Adam was super helpful and great service. Food was amazing. I had pork-chop, and it was huge and seasoned amazing. Mashed potatoes was so good. My kids loved the old faithful burger and the clam chowder. ”
“ Had a great lunch. The lasagna was large enough for at least two meals. The pot pie was huge, hot, and yummy. Enjoy. Had another great lunch today. The sandwiches were wonderful and tasted as fresh as can be. Excellent. Sam waited on us today and several times in the past; she's one of the kindest and most polite servers I've been waited on by in a long time. Yes, I'm looking forward to going back again. ”
“ Pictures below are from two different visits. Our first visit we were looking for an outdoor seating due to precautions we were still taking from COVID. Late afternoon offers shade from the sun, which is nice. The first time we went, we ordered salads, Flynn's baked pasta, cheese curds and French onion soup. All were tasty and we would order again. The second time we went, we also ate outdoors since it was a nice night. We had the burrata appetizer. I thought it was the dish name but it is actually what the fresh mozzarella ball with cream/Stracciatella in the middle. It is served with French bread toasts with garlic puree, basil, cherry tomatoes, balsamic vinegar and pesto.. When we cut it, it was soft on the inside. The balsamic vinegar was a little strong and I would order it on the side or lighter drizzle next time. My husband had the corn chowder. It's good but also a little spicy. I had a side salad. Their house ranch is good and their bacon is real. We shared the satay sampler which is chicken, beef, and shrimp skewers served with wasabi cream, teriyaki, and sriracha aioli. Each had its own seasoning. The steak was great, the shrimp was a little spicy and the chicken was earthy (rosemary or thyme and it was very strong.) The sauces to dip in reminded me of sauces made for the sushi. The combo was tasty. We would eat here again, maybe trying a new dish or two. ”
